North Wales schools still have active links with schools in Jamaica!
The theme for links between schools in North Wales and Jamaica started with a focus on shared histories, as the sugar fortune created in the Clarendon area of Jamaica was used to develop estates in North Wales.
This story was very well documented and presented by the National Trust at Penrhyn Castle in 2007.
In 2019 Yasus Afari created the 'Building Bridges' project Click HERE
writing poetry and linking John Austin All Age School in Clarendon with schools in the Bangor and Bethesda area.
But several years ago Yasus Afari's visit provided an opportunity to learn as well as have fun for these children in Anglesey.
